Using logic to skip questions

Send respondents down different paths so nobody answers questions that do not apply.

Why logic helps

A survey that asks everybody everything is longer than it needs to be, and a long survey is one people abandon. Logic lets somebody skip past what does not apply.

Question logic

Set a rule on an answer: when somebody picks a particular option, send them to a different page. Anything between is skipped.

Page logic

Set the rule on the page instead when the decision depends on several answers rather than one.

Checking it works

Preview and answer your survey once for each path. Logic is easy to get subtly wrong, and a path that leads nowhere is only obvious from the respondent's side.
