Creating your first survey

Start from a blank survey or a template, add questions, and see how it will look.

Start a survey

Choose Create survey from your survey list. You can begin with a blank survey or pick a template, which gives you a set of questions somebody has already thought through for a common situation.

Add questions

Each question has a type, which decides both what a respondent can do and what you can learn from the answers. Multiple choice is the most common, but a rating scale makes it easier to compare answers to each other, and a free text box tells you things you did not think to ask about.

Preview before you send

Preview shows the survey as a respondent will see it, including any logic. It is worth answering your own survey once before anybody else does — questions that read clearly while you are writing them often read differently while you are answering.
