Collecting responses anonymously

What is stored with a response, and how to collect one that cannot be traced back.

What is normally stored

A response records when it started and finished, which collector it came through, and the respondent's IP address and browser.

Anonymous responses

Turn on anonymous responses on a collector, and the IP address and browser are not stored at all. This is a decision to make before you send: a response collected without anonymity cannot be made anonymous afterwards, because the record of it already exists.

Email invitations

An email collector knows which address it sent to, so a response through it is never fully anonymous. Use a web link when respondents must not be identifiable.
